Our Legacy:
The story of Collectors’ Cabin is a story of continuity, heritage and passion, carried from one generation of collectors to the next.
For over 20 years Collectors' Cabin had been ran by an absolute legend in the collecting world. Nestled in a small town in the Highlands of Scotland, an oasis of archaeological and paleontological treasures flourished — a place where curiosity was nurtured, knowledge was shared, and generations of collectors first discovered their passion.

As a young child, I would save my pocket money to visit 'David’s shop' in Dufftown. For me, those visits were not simple transactions, but formative experiences- creating core memories that would last a lifetime. Within the shelves and cabinets rested fossils, minerals, and artifacts that told stories of lost worlds, ancient ages, and — my childhood favorite — dinosaurs. Within its walls, fossils, minerals, and ancient artefacts weren’t just ‘objects’.
Still to this day, over 15 years later, I still have many of these items proudly displayed in my cabinet. Guided by David’s unwavering dedication, the Cabin became more than a shop; it became a sanctuary for the ages.
Each specimen carried a story, and through David’s knowledge and patient guidance, my childhood fascination was nurtured into passion for collecting.
Today, it is my privilege to continue that legacy. What began as a boy’s first acquisitions, carefully chosen from David’s collection in the shop, has now come full circle, become a lifelong vocation.
In curating this collection and continuing the name , I strive to honor the same principles as David: a devotion to education, honesty, and the conduct of a true gentleman. Like him, I remain meticulous in recording provenance and detail, believing that every specimen deserves its history preserved alongside it.
Above all, I seek to inspire future generations of collectors, just as David inspired me — not only through the treasures themselves, but through the integrity and care with which they are shared.

David is more than a shopkeeper; he is a teacher, a curator, a true gentleman.
His stewardship laid the foundation upon which Collectors’ Cabin still stands.
