This tall, slender amethyst cathedral is defined by a large, single terminated optical calcite crystal rising prominently from within the cavity’s interior. The calcite is exceptionally well formed, displaying clear, natural striations across its terminated crystal faces. When illuminated, the crystal interacts with light to produce subtle rainbow effects that shift with viewing angle.
Surrounding this dominant calcite termination are hundreds of tiny druzy calcite formations, emerging organically through and between the amethyst points. These delicate calcite crystals appear to break through the amethyst growth, creating a highly textured, three-dimensional internal landscape.
The amethyst itself is of notably high clarity, exhibiting gentle purple banding that adds depth without overwhelming the composition. The clarity allows both the central calcite termination and the surrounding druzy calcite clusters to remain visually distinct.
The cathedral’s narrow profile and strong vertical orientation give the specimen a refined, architectural presence.
