This impressive amethyst geode from Brazil showcases the natural beauty of Earth’s geology. It’s interior is lined with stunning deep purple crystals, each point with a beautiful natural facet, and many stunning natural rutile inclusions grown into the small druzy points, giving areas lovely dark brown and orange colorations, combined with multiple internal natural refractions- that give off amazing rainbow colors when they catch the light.

Rutile is a naturally occurring mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide (TiO₂). Within host crystals such as quartz or amethyst, rutile often forms as needle-like or hair-like inclusions, creating intricate, fibrous patterns that are highly prized for their aesthetic and scientific significance.

These inclusions are the result of titanium-rich fluids entering the crystal lattice during its growth, over millions of years, and becoming trapped as the host crystal slowly formed.

The images almost don't do it justice, this looks incredible in person.

Formed over 100 million years ago within volcanic rock, this geode began as a hollow cavity where silica-rich fluids slowly crystallized. Over time, layer upon layer of quartz gave rise to the amethyst crystals that now shine with remarkable clarity and color.

Brazil is renowned for producing some of the world’s most striking amethyst geodes, and this piece is no exception. Its size and crystal depth make it a commanding display specimen — perfect as the centerpiece of a collection, or as a natural statement in any space.
