Own a piece of prehistory with this section of Mammuthus Primigenius (Woolly Mammoth) tusk, sourced from the permafrost of Siberia.
This fossilized tusk fragment is dated to approximately 30,000 years old (Devensian stage) and comes from a region where tusk material is extremely rare and highly sought after--The permafrost season in Siberia is brief, and material can only be collected for a few weeks each year. Combined with current regional high tensions, the availability of authentic Siberian tusk is increasingly limited, making this piece highly collectible.
For this reason, Siberian material is considered much more valuable compared to North Sea specimens.
YOU WILL RECIEVE THE ACTUAL FOSSIL IN THE IMAGE.
This exceptional section of Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) tusk bark displays striking natural blue mineralization, a rare phenomenon caused by most probably vivianite and other Ice Age minerals slowly infusing the ivory over tens of thousands of years within the Siberian permafrost. The coloration ranges from subtle pale blue to deeper tones that accentuate the tusk’s natural grain and texture, making it a visually captivating and ultra rare specimen. In excellent condition, the piece retains a smooth, authentic surface with fine natural character throughout, with no restoration.
