This impressive Mosasaurs anceps tooth from Morocco is a genuine fossil from one of the oceans’ most formidable predators of the Late Cretaceous period. Firmly set in its original limestone matrix, the specimen beautifully preserves the tooth’s natural shape, enamel texture, and coloration — offering a glimpse into life beneath prehistoric seas nearly 70 million years ago.
You will receive the actual fossil in the images.
The Mosasaurs was a massive marine reptile, often exceeding 10 meters in length, dominating the ancient waters where dinosaurs once roamed the land. This fossil tooth, with its defined crown and mineral-rich preservation, captures that ancient power in tangible form.
A striking display piece and an essential addition for fossil collectors and natural history enthusiasts alike.
Origin: Morocco
Species: Mosasaurus anceps
Age: Late Cretaceous Period (~70 million years old)
Dimensions- Tooth: 43 x 25mm Matrix: L95 x W65 x D37mm
Condition- Excellent overall. The matrix itself contains a few other small fossilized bone fragments, adding to its natural character. Two fine hairline fractures run through the tooth — purely cosmetic and very common in specimens of this age, sometimes even occurring during the animal’s lifetime. A beautiful and well-preserved example.
