A natural quartz cluster from Zeca De Souza, Minas Gerais, Brazil, displaying exceptional optical clarity and a dense covering of naturally formed crystal points.
The specimen comprises numerous needle shaped quartz points projecting in all directions, displaying well-developed and well-terminated forms throughout the cluster.
The abundance of points gives the specimen considerable character, with the crystals rising naturally from the base in a visually varied formation. The individual points range from 30mm to approximately a few millimetres in length.
The quartz is optically clear through much of the cluster, gradually becoming slightly more opaque towards the base. When viewed against light, the transparency of the upper crystals is particularly striking.
Zeca de Souza is a rarer locality within Minas Gerais renowned for producing exceptionally clear, highly lustrous quartz, often forming dense clusters sharply terminated crystals. The locality is particularly prized for its fine specimens which are highly sought after by collectors.
The crystals retain their natural, unpolished surfaces and overall specimen is in excellent condition, with no visible chips or significant damage.
